Thank you so much for putting these memories no matter how sordid in to words. I am also in the middle of writing a similar work and realize how hard it is to place the data out there for all to view, but it must be done. Thank you – you beat me to it.

      Wendy,
      You are welcome.
If telling my story helps you tell yours, I am gratified.
I think you are right, we can not digest the raw data -but we can understand a human story.

      Wendy,

I finished Tom’s book yesterday morning and I cannot believe what he went through and what one could do to another out the institutions. My god! Tom is so strong to have pushed though what he did to confront and write this truth as painful as it was!

Tom you are truly to be admired for what you have done! Thank you

      Love Debbie

This IS a gripping horror story. Not just something I didn’t expect to hear of as happening literally two blocks from my house growing up, but something I had ever even imagined as happening anywhere. This should be made into a movie.

      David,
Thank you. I agree, it would make a great movie.

I forgot, or maybe didn’t know, that you were raised in the same neighborhood at about the same time as Carol.
It has to be startling to find that this was happening, not just in a suburban neighborhood in northern California, but in YOUR suburban neighborhood.
